BOX SIZES FOR HIGH EFFICIENCY SUBWOOFER SYSTEMS ^ft = cubic feet | sqβ = square inch. All volumes listed are after vent, and subwoofer displacement; a.k.a. NET volume. This chart is for tuning boxes in the 35-40Hz range.
Most good programs will fill in missing T/S specs to a certain point. There are also box dimension calculators on the web as well. I just usually take the size of the space I'm going to put the box in and adjust the dimensions to fit. 1 cu.ft equals 12"*12"*12" or 1728 cu.inches. Last edited: 2012-01-31 6:25 am.

0 = 115. Black or white. Most people run subs hot due to not listening at reference. 1 single sealed sub is going to be hard pressed to either hit reference or have much headroom unless you are in a very, very small room. The purpose of listening shouldn't be to respond as much as it should be to understand.

Feb 29, 2004. #9. A bigger sealed box will give you lower bass than a smaller sealed box but you lose much of the tightness in the bass. IMO, if you want really low bass, a ported box would be best. I don't fully agree with the "much" part of your post. It all depends how much larger you go over the recommended volume.

6,500. I assume this HPF iis actually only used for pass through on the sub (for full range being sent to the sub, then onto main speakers). If you actually HPF your subwoofer signal at 80 hz, that would mean you would lose all bass below 80, which I would find impossible to believe "sounds better" lol.
